NAZIS TO GO
PURGE IN BRITAIN PARTY OFFICIALS POLICE INVESTIGATION REPRISALS IN BERLIN By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received May 4, 8.10 p.m.) LONDON, May 4 A longer list of Nazi Party officials is being prepared for the expulsion of the Nazis concerned from Britain, says the Daily Telegraph. It includes the leaders of the three main Nazi organisations in Britain—the Labour Front, the National Socialist Party and the women's organisation, the Deutscherfrauenbund. A number of German journalists also may be requested to leave because of their political activity. It is anticipated, says a British official wireless message, that a statement will shortly be made in the House of Commons by the Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, regarding more German residents in London, all of whom it is reported, are connected with National Socialist organisations. The activities of these residents have been investigated by Scotland Yard, and they have been informed that they must return to Germany. None of the German journalists who_ were recently asked to leave were ordered out because of their journalistic activities. Six British residents have been ordered to leave Germany by May 24. Those expelled include Mr. H. C. Green, chief Berlin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. The others are Dusseldorf, Cologne and Hamburg business men. The British Embassy was told that the expulsions are reprisals for the British expulsion of four prominent Germans from Britain at the beginning of the month. Four prominent Nazis, including Dr. Rosel, London correspondent of FieldMarshal Goering's newspaper the Nationalzeitung, were expelled from England on May 1. The other three were a business man, Herr O. G. Karlowa, bead of the United Kingdom Nazi Party: his second-in-command, Herr E. P. Himmelmann, and Fraulein Anna Wolfe, a Nazi Travel Bureau official, who was alleged to have sent letters intimidating German residents in the United Kingdom.
