DEFENCE EXPANSION
SOUTHERN RHODESIA SALISBURY. May 3 The Governor of Southern Rhodesia. Sir Herbert Stanley, at the opening of Parliament, said it had been decided to raise a battery of artillery, armoured reconnaissance and engineers' units, to expand the Air Force and compile a national register. Britain had agreed to . lend specialist officers.', Southern Rhodesia was determined to keep step with the rest of the Empire.
