WINTER SCULLING
NEW ORGANISATION FORMED A meeting was held in the Auckland Rowing Club's shed this week to consider the advisability of forming a club to organise winter sculling. x\bout 20 1 oarsmen attended. Mr. G. Oxspring was appointed chairman, and proposals were put forward. It was the opinion of thoso present that the members of the sculling club should maintain their identity as of rowing .clubs and tliat- they should meet solely ior the purpose of coaching and providing competitions for scullers during the winter. As it was agreed that this organisation should in no way be allowed to interfere with the rowing clubs' activities, considerable discussion, took placo on the question 0% holding races on Saturday or Sunday. The season would extend from April 1 to October 30. It was agreed that members should belong to a rowing club affiliated to the Auckland Rowing ciation. i r The meeting decided to form a cl't% and officers were appointed and instructed to draft a set of rules, which will be submitted at a general meeting to be called at a later date.
