RESIDENTS FAREWELLED After residing in the Maokoro district lor the past 20 years, Mi. and Mrs. AY. Pearson were farewcller] at a social evening held at the home ot Mr. and Mrs. G. Preston, when about (30 settlors wore present. On behalf of those present, Mr. B. A. Swnov made a presentation to Air. and Mrs. Pearson of a coffee set and wished Litem success in the future. Airs. Pearson was presented with a bouquet in tones of red and gold. Other speakers were Messrs. J. F. Main and A. J. McDonald, old settlers of tin; district. Opportunity was also taken to welcome home Air. and Mrs. J. A. Hart, who were recently married. 'Two popular members of Loyal Morrinsville Lodge, ALU.i.0.0.P., Aliss Joan Hill and Mr. E. Penn, were the guests of honour at a kitchen evening hold after the lodge meeting this week. Air. II T. Scott, P.D.6.M., asked them to accept a large number of parcels as an appreciation by members of what they had done to further the social side of the lodge for many years. Mrs. H. H. Herbert. Lorne Street, is on holiday in Taranaki. Mrs. Wilson is visiting her daughter, Airs. I. Ball, Anderson Street. Airs. H. Bowers, Haig»Street, is on holiday at The Mount, Tauranga. All's. IT. Howie is on a motor tour of North Auckland. Airs. Westlake, Lincoln Street, has returned from Te Palm. Airs. A. Mair; will leave to-morrow to reside in Hamilton. Mrs. L. Kveritt, Moorbouse Street, is on holiday at The Mount, Tauranga. Airs. J. Hammond and children, Allen Street, are on holiday at Waihi Beach, Mru. K. K. Cooper has taken up her residence in Lorne Street.
