HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES CROQUET CLUB AFTERNOON Mrs. E. G. Davidson, of Remuera, has boon spending a few days at Mangarata. Mrs. S. Day, of Plunket Street, who lias been visiting Rotorua, lias returned to Dargaville. Mrs. Mellwraith, of Marton, is spending a holiday in Dargaville. Mrs. J. Mitehelson, who has been staying witli Mrs. A. Gordon, has returned to Waimauku. Mrs. J. W. Boys has returned home after, visiting New Plymouth and Masterton. Miss Mavis Gieson, of Rotorua, is at present the guest of Miss P. Harding, Aoroa. Miss Olga Franich has loft for Sydney, where she will spend an extended holiday. Mrs. R. Campbell has left for Te Kuiti, where she will reside in future. M iss J. Mountain, of Oliaeawai, is visiting Dargaville. Miss M. Hayes has returned to Dargaville after spending a holiday at Kaeo. Mrs. Walker, of Maropiu, was the guest of Mrs. Clenden Gould for the week-end. An enjoyable open afternoon was 'held by the Dargaville Croquet Club recently to augment its funds. The afternoon was spent playing progressive croquet and in colli petitions. Among the visitors were: —Mrs. Gibson, Mrs. Morse, Mrs. Mazengarb, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Orr, Mrs. Munn, Mrs. Walden, Mrs. Nicol, Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. King. The Royal Theatre was gaily decorated for the dance held recently in aid of the fire brigade. Several dance competitions were hold —the most popular being the Lambeth Walk, for which Miss J. McConnell and Mr. II Moran were the prize winners.
