LABOUR NOMINEES
TRANSPORT BOARD CHANGES DELEGATES TO CONFERENCE Out of five city Labour members of the Auckland Transport Board, only one. Mr. J. Savegh, has been renominated a candidate for the May elections. The present chairman, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, and Mr. W. T. Anderton, M.P., will not seek reelection, and two others, the Hon. F. E. Lark, M.L.C., and /Mr, E. J. Phelan, were rejected in the ballot held recently. The sitting members for the No. 3 constituency (One Tree Hill, Onehunga, Mount Roskill, Mount Wellington, Panmui'e, Ellerslie and Mangere), Messrs. L. C. McClintock and J. S. Montgomerie, are nominated, and Messrs. C. Matthews and J. Pickens are candidates Mr the No. 2 constituency (Mount Eden, Mount Albert and Newmarket). The Labour nominees this year will be as follows: —City area (No. 1 constituency) : Messrs. J. Sayegh, 11. Armstrong, J. T. Jennings, T. P. McCready, C. Bailey. Mrs. M. M. Dreaver. No. 2 constituency: Messrs. L. C. McClintock, J. S. Montgomerie. No. 3 constituency: Messrs.C. Matthews and J. Pickens. The Labour Party holds seven of the 10 seats on the present board. Auckland delegates to the Labour conference at Wellington at Easter will be Mrs. ,M. M. Dreaver, a member of the Hospital Board, and Mr. T?. Armstrong, a member of tho City Council. ,
