STREAM OF STUDENTS

(UNIVERSITY ENROLMENTS FIRST TERM STARTS TO-DAY A steady stream of first-year students enrolling with the registrar's staff and consulting members of the professorial staff on their intended curriculum was an indication yesterday at Auckland University College that the first term of the new academic year was to open to-day. It was estimated by the registrar, Mr. L, 0. Besboroughj that the enrolments yesterday were equal in number to all those which had been received in the preceding few days. To assist intending students in overcoming the difficulties which they face in entering now surroundings, an inquiry bureau was operating in the lobby of the main building. There was also a constant queue of students lined up in the college office, arid other groups were to bo found scattered throughout the buildings awaiting interviews with the deans of the various faculties.

Lectures will continue until April 6, when studies will be suspended for the Easter recess. The graduation ceremony is to bs held on May 5, and the first term holidays will commence tho following day.
