A fresh westerly wind sprang up lialf-way through the programme. The Woodville Handicap was won easily by Lady Furst, and Mittie scored in the Ruahine Handicap. There was a fair attendance and tho investments totalled £10,050 10s, compared with £10,992 10s on the corresponding day in 1937, a decrease of £330.
