BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS RECEPTION TO PAST OFFICERS Tho Progressive Club of the Y.W.C.A. celebrated its tenth birthday on Thursday night with an enjoyable party, with which was incorporated a reception to previous officers and members. Tho president, Mrs. R. Murdoch, briefly outlined tho club's history, its aims and objects and its progress through the yeairs. Tho first president, Mrs. Fergusson, and the first secretary, Mrs. A, Sanders, were present and each was presented with a shoulder spray. The first minutes of the club were read by Mrs. Sanders and the report presented on the club's first birthday party was read by Mrs. Fergusson. Songs were given by Miss Fizzenden for whom Mrs. Phethian acted as accompanist. The latter also played for community 6inging. When supper was served the birthday cako was a feature of interest, the ten candles being lighted by Mrs. Fergusson and extinguished by Mrs.' Murdoch. Dancing and competitions occupied the rest of the evening, Mrs. McLaren providing the music.
