BASEBALL
TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS Y.M.C.A. TO MEET PIONEERS Y.M.C-A. should fully extend Pioneers in the main attraction of the Auckland Basehall Association's league competition at Blandford Park for the E. Buchanan Cup. The Pioneers team has always been strong and its more experienced players have snatched victory in the last innings many times. However, Y.M.C.A. has benefited by intensive coaching and its fielders and batsmen have played several sound games.
The early match, between Richmond Racoons and Lucas, Limited, will bring two fast-moving teams together. Both sides have sound fieldsmen and hard-hitting batters and the result should be in doubt until the final innings. Following are the teams:— NORTH SHORE Intermediate Grade.—Doyle, Renshaw, Slyfield, Exler, Cato, Ingham, Thomson, Mnnroe, Palmer, Donaldson, Oliver, Tancock. Holt, Mackay, Cutler, Herrick. LUCAS, LIMITED A Grade.—C. Hyland (captain), B. Hyland, C. Grant, T. Coles, D.Turpin, W. Boyd, J. Campbell, J. Barrott, G. Cowan, D. Wadey, H. Kelly, F. Mills.
