CRICKET SEASON
SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP HARD TASK FOR GRAFTON CLOSE FINISH ANTICIPATED A close finish is indicated in the principal cricket match at Eden Park tomorrow between Grafton and Lden. These teams are leading in the Auckland Cricket Association's championship and the premiership honours may depend on the result of this game. Eden made 209 in its first innings, which did not represent a very formidable task for Grafton, but the latter lost its advantage when four of its best batsmen were dismissed for 43. Grafton will need to stage a good recovery to stand a chance of victory. Parnell is in a safe position in the game against Y.M.C.A. on No. 1 wicketandabout the most the latter team can hope for is a draw. Parnell made 491 for four wickets and ♦his total should prove too large a nuruie for the Y.M.C.A. batsmen.
