£46,000 LOAN PROPOSAL USE OF GARDEN PLACE SITE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday Advice from the Under-secretary of Internal Affairs, Mr. J. W. Heenan, was received by the Hamilton Borough Council this evening that Garden Place had been approved by the Town-plan-ning Department as a suitable site for a town hall, provided that an area 350 ft. by 300 ft. between Alexandra and Anglesea Streets was reserved for civic purposes. The council decided to apply to the Local Government Loans JBoard for authority to raise a loan of £46,000 for the erection of a town hall.
