BOYS' CAMP AT HUNUA

NORMAL SCHOOL PUPILS PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION GIVEN A party of 86 boys from tho Normal School arc at. present staying at the Young Mens' Christian Association's cnnip at Hunua. The boj's, who are in the charge of the headmaster, Mr. G. K. Hamilton, two assistant masters and six students from the Auckland Teachers' Training _ College, are receiving instruction in physical education, music, nature study, art and mathematics.

The party is taking advantage of the fine weather to study the variety of native plants in the bush, and the pupils will have a wealth of material for a book, which will be compiled when they. return to school. The instruction in mathematics is taking a practical form, being based on iield measurements.

A number of parents and friends spent the day at the camp on Sunday, while visits have also been paid by* the senior inspector of schools. Mr. A. Bain, tho chairman of the Auckland Education Board, Mr. W. >l. Campbell, and the principal of tho Teachers' Training College, Mr. D. M. Rne All considered that tho instruction was of a high educational value and were impressed with the excellent health of tho boys.
