MEETING OF EXECUTIVE CONDUCT OF YOUNG GIRLS Cases dealt with during the past month were reported upon at the monthly meeting of the executive of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children held this week, and presided over by the Rev. WJellie. During tho month 72 new cases had been dealt with and 105 old ones required furthex attention. Of these cases 19 were sent to the solicitor for Court proceedings. The society, it was stated, was frequently consulted by parents with regard to young girls whoso behaviour was likely to lead them into serious difficulties. Every effort was made to exercise persuasive influence and avoid repressive measures, but in extreme cases when the girl's own safety and future well-being was endangered, it had been necessary to have them placed in a home for a period of training and discipline-
