NEW POST OFFICE

BUILDING AT HAMILTON STRUCTURAL WORK COMMENCED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Friday The construction of the foundations for the new Chief Post Office at Hamilton has been commenced. The excavation work, which has taken about a month, was completed in excellent time. The building of the foundations and the basement of the building up to ground level will bo the most difficult part of the contract and this work will possibly not bo completed until Christmas. The greater part of the earth which has been excavated has been pushed to the rear of the site and some has been carted to the rear of the office of the Waikato Hospital Board's building in Marlborough Place for .raising up the ground adjacent to the building. Other loads have been transported to the Hamilton wharf for reclamation work there. \ -
