FOG IN THE CITY

MOTORISTS' TROUBLES POOR VISIBILITY AT SEA Heavy fog blanketed parts of the city for some hours early last night and forced motorists to dim headlights to reduce glare. Only some areas were affected, particularly Parnell. The outer-lying districts round Ivingsland and Mount Eden were less affected, but Devon port was enveloped in heavy mist. Visibility in the afternoon from Tiritiri was less than three miles because of heavy rain, and ' shortly after nino o'clock last, night the fog was so thick that the Harbour Board fog signals were put into operation for a short period.
