SETBACK FOR PRESIDENT (Received Septembor 14, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 13 In the State of Maine yesterday tho Republican Governor was re-elected, namely, Mr. Lewis C. Barrows. Three Republican members of Congress were also elected.
In the Democrats' primary election for the Senato, almost complete returns show that at Baltimore Mr. M. E. Tydings, who was opposed by President Roosevelt in his "purge," has defeated Mr. David Lewis, who was Mr. Roosevelt's, nominee.
