MOTOR ASSOCIATION
COUNCIL'S LAST MEETING Good progress during tho past year bv the Automobile Association (Auckland) was reported by the president, Mr. F. G. Farrell, at the final meetins: of the present council of the association, hold last night. Mr. Farrell said the membership had increased by 7500 during the year., and there wero now 27,651 members, including 312 in the Fiji branch. it was decided to support a proposal for the beautificfition of the Rotorua highway as a centennial memorial by the planting of suitable trees along the roadlinc and the removal of reconstruction scars. Members suggested that the schema should not necessarily be reserved as a centennial memorial, but fchould he adopted and supported by local authorities for the general improvement of the highway as a tourist route.
Mr. Fnrrell and the secretary, Sir. G. W. Hutchison, were appointed to represent the association on a deputation to the Prime Minister in connection with the proposed erection of a harbour bridge.
