NORTH SHORE CLUB i PAST SEASON'S CHAMPIONS A successful season was reviewed in the report presented at the North Shore Amateur Swimming and Lifesaving Club's annual meeting at Devonport hist night. Seven carnivals were held during the season. The championships of the North Shore primary schools were decided at the JMilford Pool in March, the winner being Devonport. There were over 500 entrants. The girl champion was Miss C. Kdney, and the boy. champion F. Ponder. Winners of the principal races were: —-Halfmile junior harbour race for children under 14 years, C. Nettelton; intermediate harbour race of three-quarters of a mile, K. Williams; senior harbour race, of 1J miles, for the Morgan Cup, C. Williams; Eila Munro Cup, Miss 1). Punford; men's club champion, N. Crump; ladies' club champion, Miss .J. Wright. Auckland championships were won by the following members:—Miss D. Lewis, 75 yards intermediate girls' breasfstroke; D. lates, 'MO yards intermediate boys' free-style and 100 yards backstroke; Iris Brown, 33 1-3 yards tin>'-tot girls' free-style. The surf team performed creditably in various championship competitions, hoiiift successful in the Auckland metropolitan Junior surf teams' race at, Oneroa. • The number of members increased to 215 during the season, including 30 seniors, 101 intermediates and juniors, ifnd 71 honorary members. PROFESSIONAL DIVER'S VISIT Preliminary negotiations hare been opened by tho Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association with tho object of arranging a tour in the Dominion next. February by Peto Dcsjardins, of the United States, who is regarded as the world's most skilful diver. As Dcsjardins is a professional, tlie centre must liavo the New Zealand Council's permission to promote his tour. This has been requested .from the council, and the question whether the centre should bear the responsibility will bo discussed at its annual meeting late, this month. If the champion comes to New. Zealand, it is proposed that (ho centre shouM organise his exhibitions throughout, the country. The Otago Centre is also reported to be endeavouring to sponsor his visit.
