GRETA GARBO'S PLANS
EARLY VISIT TO PARIS SUGGESTION OF ROMANCE PARIS, August H The well-known film star Greta Garbo is expected to join Leopold Stokowski in Paris shortly. The Polish conductor is now on a tour of Austria, Hungary and Italy. The pair will return to the United States, where Garbo is scheduled to co-star with "William Powell. It has been suggested that later she will star in a film of the life of Mine. Curie, pioneer in radium research. The world became aware of the Garbo-Stokowski romance in March of this year, when the film star and the conductor were discovered to be together at the Villa Ciiuhrono, Bavello, Italy. Stokowski informed his American legal representative in a radio telephono call from the villa that he and Garbo would be married at Turin between March 15 and 17. A week later, Garbo flatly denied any marriage plans to interviewers. "1 have never had an impulse to go to the altar," she said. They returned to Garbo's native Sweden together at the end of May, and were welcomed in Garbo's Stockholm home by her mother, her brother, Svcn, and his wife.
