EFFECT ON DEATH RATES NEW ZEALAND'S GOOD FIGURES (Received August 10". 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August IS A report presented to the League of Nations by Professor N. F. Hall, of London University, tracing the effect of living standards on death rates shows that New Zealand. Australia and the Netherlands have the most satisfactory vital statistics. The view is expressed that better living standards bring about a more stable economic system.
