"EVERYBODY DRILLING"
PROSPERITY IN ENGLAND "After having travelled on the Continent, I am prouder than ever of being a British subject," said Mr. .7 u tice Hoycc, of Sydney, on arrival from Kngland yesterday by the liangitata. He lias bei n abroad for about seven months, and visited Kngland, France. Germany, Austria and Italy. "On the Continent. everybody seemed to be drilling,"' he said. "I was in Vienna two or three days before the recent coup. Nobody seemed to anticipate it, and there was no excitement.
"In Italy, Austria and Germany, in the short, periods 1 was there, it was clear that that the people were saving everything,"' Mr. Justice Tloyce continued. "Von hardly ever get a piece of string, and sugar is handed out in little packets. I was very glad to get back to the freedom and apparent prosperity of Kngland. They seem to be prosperous there, although everybody growls about tho income tax."
