WOMEN'S DIVISION
Te Awamutu.—At the annual meeting, at which Mrs. Neill presided, a toilet table set and bouquet were presented to Mrs. Barnett in appreciation of her six years' work as secretary. Mrs. Neill, Mrs. Worthington and Miss Eyre also received flowers. Satisfactory reports were presented by the president, the housekeeper, the librarian and the secretary, whose balance-sheet showed a profit. Mesdantes Hooper and Pepperell sang a duet. The points prize for the year went to Mrs. J. S. Pattison. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. W. G. Neill; vicepresidents, Mesdames L. Eyre, Houston and Bryant; housekeeper and secretary, Mrs. R. Hinton; committee, Mesdames Carlisle, Sigleet, Boswcll, Donaldson, lA. Stewart, Budden, Broad bent, Munro, Collison, Silvester, Lawry, Griggs, Zohrab, Peck and Signal; advisory committee. Mesdames Ryburn, Neill, Hinton and Godfrey, who, with Mrs. Pattison, were also made provincial delegates; social committee, Mesdames Cullen, L. Nicholson and Godfrey; official hostesses, , Mesdames Mack.v and Cavers and Miss Eyrii; tea collector, Mrs. ( 'ox; official accompanist. Mrs. T. Nicholson; press correspondent, A!iss I. Temple. Waihi. —The ninth birthday of tho Waihi branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was celebrated recently. Visitors from several neighbouring branches were present. Remits for the annual conference at Wellington were considered. Karaka. —At the monthly meeting Mrs. O'Halloran. of Auckland, gave an address. A dance was performed by Miss Heather Montgomery. Results of competitions were: —Woollen article, Mrs. Slack. 1; Mrs. Casto, 2; best I pumpkin. Airs. Glen Wood, 1; best bloom. Mrs. Glen Wood. 1; Mrs. Casto, I 2. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Charles and Miss B. Charles. Ngongotaha.—The monthly meeting of the branch was held recently. The president, Mrs. K. Martin, presided. Three new members were enrolled and Mesdames Newson, Nixon and Sloane, who are leaving the district, were farewelled. The president presented each with a small gift in recognition of the services they had given to the branch. A competition was won by Mrs. A. Robinson. The monthly competitions resulted as follows:—Knitted article, Mrs. Turton, 1, Mrs. Erickson, 2, and Mrs. Emerali, 3; melon jam, Mrs. Windley, 1, Mrs. Emerali, 2, and Mrs. Bull, 3; best flower, Mrs. Harris, 1, Mrs. Emerali, 2, and Mrs. Hamblin, 3.
