LARGE NUMBER OF GUESTS - Bridge and dancing provided enjoy- - able entertainment at a social arranged i by the ladies' committee of the Auck- * land West branch of the National > Party in the All Saints' Parish Hall, > 'Ponsonby, last night. > The National Party's colours of blue r and gold intermingled with clusters of gay balloons, light greenery and flowers , decorated the hall, while the front of . the stage was banked with pots of , flowering chrysanthemums and foliage. The guests were received by Airs. E. | D. Stalhvorthv, chairman of the ladies' committee, who was wearing a frock of [ black lace and georgette. Acting as hostesses for the bridge and ( dancing were Airs. J. A. C. Allum, wearing a frock of Burgundy lace, and Airs. A. E. Collins, in leaf green corded velvet. Among those present were: —Airs. T. ROSKILL AIEETING There was a large attendance at a meeting of the women's branch of the National Party for Roskill, which took place yesterday afternoon at the home of Airs. W. H. Davenport, Empire Road, Fpsom. The following officers were elected: —President, Airs. W. Alarks; vice-president. Airs. AL Fvitt; secretary, Alr.s. P. G. Peacocke. A large working committee was also elected. A brief address was given by Air. T. G. Wilkes, the Dominion organiser for the National Party.
WAIUKU AIEAIBERS An enjoyable afternoon organised by the Waiuku women's branch was held recently. Airs. Aluir presided and Airs. I']. Al. Gould, of Auckland, gave an address. Airs. Keith Buchanan, president of the Onehunga branch, was also present. Afternoon tea was served by the committee. Items were rendered by Airs. Ohlson, Airs. Graves, Airs. Z. Finlay.
