Miss Heleu Widdop left Wellington 011 Tuesday for a visit to Auckland.

Mrs. Fred Baker, of Mission Bay will leave to-morrow on a visit to Aus tralia.
Miss Jean Millar, Sarsfiold Street, Heme Bay, will leave by the Maunganui to-day 011 the Islands cruise.
Mrs. V. H. Nolan and Miss Nolan, of Cambridge, are guests of Lady Nolan, Wadestown, Wellington, for the races.
Mrs. Tarrant Hoskins (Bay of Islands), and Mrs. Armesly Smith (Morrinsville), are at the Station Hotel.
M iss Margaret Lightbourne, Shelly Beach Boad, Heme Bay, will leave by the Maunganui to-day on the Islands cruise.
Mrs. A. Griffiths, of Onetangi, Waiheke, will leave 011 Friday by the Monterey for a three months' tour of Australia.
Mrs. 0. H. Burns, who has been living at Courtvillo for some time, has moved into her new home in Rattray Street, Devonport.
Mrs. Vincent Lorigan will leave by the Monterey on Friday on a visit to Iter daughter Mrs. Harald Flctt, of Bellvue Hill, Sydney.
Mrs. E. \Y. Griffiths, of Omahu Road, Remuera, who has been staying with her daughter, Mrs. J. Todd, at Ohupu, has returned home.
Miss Marie McMullin, of Hamilton, will arrive to-day to spend a few days in Auckland as the guest of Mrs. A. M. Gould, of Victoria Avenue, JReniuera.
At the Waverle.v Hotel are Mrs. J. Gray (Napier), Mrs. J. Peach (Hastings), Mrs. A. Hood, Mrs. W. Ogilvie (Gisborne), Mrs. M. Galloway (Riverton).
Miss C'elia McArthur, who has been staying with Mrs. M. G. McArthur, of Lammermoor, St. Heliers Bay, left last evening by the Remuera for England.
The Misses Jean [Mil ler and M. Hanlin, of Dunedin, who have been guests of Mrs. E. C. Danbv, of Remuera Road, left yesterday for Hamilton.
Mrs. John Elworthv, of Timaru, is visiting Wellington for the races at Trentham. Later she will visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Herrick, of Hawke's Bav.
Progressive bridge was played by members of the Overseas League in their clubrooms on Thursday night. Prize-winners were Mrs. Bosworth, [Mr. Mayho and Miss Montgomery.
A bridge and five hundred afternoon was held by the Papatoetoe Croquet Club. The prize-winners were: Bridge, Mr. Legge; five hundred, Mr. Brown; hidden number, Mrs. Kendall. Acting as hostesses were Mesdames Bryant and Shepherd.
Mrs. T. J. Kirkup, of Auckland, and her husband, are about to leave on a <;om preliensive tour of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. The Continent will be visited subsequently, wrote our London correspondent on June 15. They intend to leave for Auckland, via Canada and the United States, connecting either in October or November with their vessel at Los Angeles.
Miss Nancy Wilson and Miss Jean Wilson, of Rangitikei, have been in London for a month and are now leaving for a tour of the Cotswolds. wrote our London correspondent on June 18. The former will attend the international Wolf Cubs' Conference at Gilfrell Park in July as a New Zealand delegate. Oti July 20 the Misses Wilson will be joined by Miss Cynthia Wilson, of Burleigh, Bulls.
There was a large attendance at the monthlv meeting of the Methodist W omen's Club, held in the Pitt Street Church parlour and presided over by Mrs. JO. T. Olds. Speaking on "The Women's Crusade for World Peace," Mrs. 0. B. Blamires and Mrs. M. Harvey gave interesting expositions of the meaning of the word "peace" in its broadest sense. The usual study groups were also held.
