THE SOCCER GAME
CHATHAM CUP FINAL PONSONBY V. THISTLE REPLAY The replay of the local Chatham Cup final between Ponsonby and Thistle, who drew last week, even after extra time, will be the main attraction at Blandford Park this afternoon. Ponsonby, although well below form in its championship fixtures, rose to great heights last week and will have to reproduce its display to hold the strjyig Thistle'eleven. Whichever team "wins will deserve success. A hard-fought contest should be witnessed between Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys and Eastern Suburbs, which meet at St. Hellers. North Shore will probably not be troubled in its match with Onehunga at Devonport, while two even encounters should result in the Comrades-Abels clash at Victoria Park and tho meeting between Metro-College ana Y.M.C.A. at the Domain.
