CRUISE OF YACHT
A SMART PASSAGE SEAWARD REACHES NORFOLK ONLY FOUR DAYS TAK£N What is claimed by her crew to be a record voyage for a yacht from the Bay of Islands to Norfolk Island has been made by the 34ft. ketch-rigged Seaward, of Auckland, which completed the journey in less than four days. On receipt of a favourable weather forecast a week ago yesterday, the Seaward put out from Russell and dropped anchor at Norfolk Island on Tuesday morning, according to information received privately in Auckland yesterday.
Owned by Mr. D. Wellington, who is accompanied by Messrs. L. A. Clark and It. Finlayson as his crew, the Seaward left Auckland on May 14 on a six months' pleasure cruise in the Pacific Ocean. It is Mr. Wellington's intention to stay about a fortnight at Norfolk Island, before proceeding to New Caledonia and the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, returning to Auckland via Sydney and Lord Howe Island. Mr. Wellington, who intends to be back by "the end of October, may also visit the New Hebrides group.
