SHORT SESSION
GOVERNMENT'S PLANS
PENSIONS AND HEALTH
ALL IN ONE MEASURE
HASTENING THE ELECTION
[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Friday
"Few legislative measures will be submitted to Parliament during the session which is to open on June 28, the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, said this evening. There would be little legislation beyond that dealing with the Government superannuation and free health service proposals and tho Education Amendment Bill, which was introduced at the end of last session and circulated for consideration by interested parties and the Education Committee of the House of Representatives. "These will be tho main measures," said Mr. Savage. "The Imprest Supply Bill will have to be dealt with at the beginning of the session, and no doubt other odds and ends requiring attention will crop up, but there is not likely to bo anything substantial in any of these. The social security proposals will probably be covered by one bill. The Budget should bo read for introduction toward the end of the Address-in-Reply debate.
"We want to get through the business as soon as we can," added the Prime Minister. "Business people are always anxious about the late sitting of Parliament. There is a general election campaign to follow the session and we w<int to get that over in reasonable time before Christmas."
