SOCCER GAME
SENIOR COMPETITION TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS CHATHAM CUP CONTEST An excellent programme has been arranged for to-morrow by the Auckland Football Association. The principal attraction will be the meeting of Thistle and Abels at Blandford Park in a combined Chatham Cup and championship match, starting at 2.30 p.m. In view of the fact that Thistle has suffered three successive defeats, its confidence will probably have been lessened and Abels should fully extend the Scots eleven. Abels plays a type of football mora suited to cup-tie conditions than that of Thistle. An interesting championship game should be witnessed at Devonport, where the strong North Shore and Eastern Suburbs teams will clash. North Shore should carry a slight advantage, although Suburbs is quite capable of a surprise. There should be little to choose between Comrades and Metro-College at Victoria Park, while Onehnnga should find the improving Ponsonby side a trifle too much to contend with. Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys will be favoured against Y.M.C.A. in the game at Western Springs. Lower grade competitions will be continued. Following are tho teams:— ONEHUNGA First Division.—Parks, Harlick, Owens, Simpson, R. Lindsay, Bentley, Brass, M. Lindsay, R. Wallace. Forrester, Newman. Second Division.—Mays. Webster, Capel, W. Phillips, D. Wallace, Wilson, t)ouglas, McGhie, Woods, Campbell, Chatham. Third Division.—Higgeuson, Fox, Breckenridge. Gray, Parkinson, Ashton, Williams, Winkle. Grant, Hopkins, R. Phillips.
