AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP GRAMMAR AND MOUNT EDEN The final matches in the first round of championship matches played under the control of the Auckland Hockey Association will be contested to-morrow at Remuera. Grammar Old Boys and Mount Eden will meet in the main fixture of the afternoon, and should provide an interesting game.

Mount Eden gained its first victory last week when it defeated St.. Luke's and with this imprqvement may extend the strong - Grammar-combination. The latter team is at present one of the leaders in the competition and will be eager to retain its position. If the match . between United and University last week was any criterion of what will happen when'-these two teams meet again the early fixture on No. 1 ground will prove to be a stirring struggle. University will be desirous of making up for a series of narrow defeats at. the beginning of the season, but will have strong opposition from the polished United side. Somerville and St. Luke's were both bea.ten in the round of Devonport Shield games and the result of their meeting tomorrow should be very open. United will pla.v a friendly game against Franklin later in the afternoon.
