FARES TO SPORTS AREAS

ASSISTING STUDENTS TECHNICAL COLLEGE VIEW , The question of paying fares of students of the Seddon Memorial Technical College to the various playing areas at present used, including the Domain and the Remuera tennis courts, was discussed at the meeting of the board of managers held yesterday.-Miss 13. E. Carnachan presided. ( , It was stated that the students' fund at present bore half the amount of the fares from the college, the children paving the balance of the amount and the return fare. The amount paid by the students' fund in this direction during the second term of 1937 totalled nearly £lB and it was estimated that the ;Cbst for tho < same period this year would be approximately £ls. The board thought that, as sports occupied _an important placo on tlio school curriculum, the total expenses should bo borne by the school. It was decided to obtain further particulars before the matter was finalised.
