STAB PRONTO SPRINTS J FINAL HALF-MILE IN 1.6 PLEASING EFFORT BY VANORA WORK-OUT WITH PETITE JEWEL BY ABAYDOS By sprinting four furlongs in 1.6, Star Pronto took the training honours at Epsom yesterday when the dirt track was in good order. Bismuth 1.8, Munga Tangi 1.8 2-5, Vanora 1.8 4-5 and Potite Jewel 1.9, also worked well. Star Pronto (B. Dyer) worked two rounds at a 2.35 rate, and on a second task lie went two miles in 4.52. The first mile occupied 2.34 and it was not until the last half that he was given his head. Ho sprinted home in fine style and is very fit. Vanora (L. J. Mahoney) began more smartly than Petite Jewel (W. H. Andrews) from the mile and a-half, but tho latter quickly took charge, leading to the mile in 2.24. Over the last quarter Vanora moved up and was alongside Petite Jewel at the finish in 3.33. Petite Jewel pulled while in front, but finished resolutely. Vanora is in fine condition. Bingcn Sun (W. Head) trotted a mile and a-half in 3.42, the last half in 1.13, but ho appeared to be doing his best.

Two miles unhoppled was the task of Lucky Love (W. Willetts), the last mile and a-cjuarter being run at a 2.30 rate. Lucky Love, who lacks nothing on the score of condition, was keen to go faster. Munga Tangi's Effort Munga Tangi (L. Laver) got over a mile and three-quarters in 4.0 2-5, the last mile being run in 2.15 2-5. He is improving with each work-out. Autumn Lu (G. H. Stubbs) and Great Surprise (L. Laver) : iji the first, quarter of a trial broke badly and at the three furlongs Pirate's' Last (L. ' J.: Mahoney) cast a shoe. Great Sonoma Trots Well The well-seasoned Great Sonoma (L. Laver), trotted a mile and a-half faultlessly in 3.37, but was eased in the last half-furlong. He ran to the mile in 2.25, and went the next quarter in 355. Kewpie's Triumph (K. Pell) was not taxed in going two miles in 4.59, the last half in 1.12. Ho is lazy when worked alone. Kewpie's Crest (W. Gee), unhoppled, recorded 5.5. Fisher (A. Paton) showed dash at the end of a mile and a-quarter in 3.0, the last quarter in 355. Bedford (D. Smith), with Kaitawa (W. Gee) as a galloping companion, went away from the mile and a-half and, passing the mile in 2.23, completed in 3.33. Bedford bears a bright appearance and is working soundly. Kaitawa has had an easy time since the Waikato meeting. The two-year-old Auto Bingen (G. H. Phipps) was allotted steady unhoppled work. He has been spelling since he ran third in the Great Northern Trotting Stakes in February. Our Princess (W. Willetts), pacing smoothly, worked a mile in 2.35, the last two furlongs in 355. She is a shapely filly, by Hey de Oro—Bingen Crest.

Bismuth Shapes Well Bismuth covered his first six furlongs in 1.43 and a mile and a-quarter in 2.51. Ho is obviously regaining form. Dick Redmond (A. T. Newdick) and Dainty Lady (A. Paton) the mile and a-quarter in 3.7, when the former, who was not going right, was pulled up, and Dainty Lady went on to finish in 3.44. Dick Redmond was sore and will not be takeji to Claude- . lands. Golden Maid (L. J. Mahoney) trotted freely for two miles, the last half in 1.16 being her best. She thrives on easv tasks. Agnes Bingen (D. 0. Jones) was given starting practice, then ran nine furlongs at a 2.20 rate. _ On the cinders Sequoia (W. H. Summons) worked a mile and a-quart£?r in 2.56, the last half in 1.10. Kewpie r s Queeii (G. Hotter) was sent a couple of laps unhoppled in the sand, finishing with a strong gallop over a mile. Worthy. Quest (G. H. Stubbs) Tyas allotted similar work and Noble Prince (J.
