Spendthrift and Colonel Kongo were first out. They ran home half a mile in 495, time that was shortly afterward equalled by The Wrecker. Paper Slipper and Wild Chase went at a strong pace over seven furlongs in Paper Note beat Wine Card over six furlongs in 1.17 4-5. Lady Leigh finished in front of Rangemore at the end of half a mile in 49 2-ss. Good Passage and Scuffle recorded 50s. Sovereign Lady strode over a mile and a-half in 2,3i5, the last half in 535. Sprint by Kinnoull Disdain began from the six-furlong post and ran home half a mile in 47 4-ss. Kilrobe ran half a mile alone the back in 48s. Kinnoull and Grey Honour followed in 48 4-ss, finishing together. INJURED JOCKEYS , ABLE TO RETURN HOME The apprentice jockey A. Walker was thrown heavily when Valdene bounded through the barrier just before the E.tart of the Junior Stakes at Whangarei on Saturday and suffered concussion. Walker made a quick recovery and was able to return to his home at Otahuhu during the week-end. H.
