DARING AEROBATICS

/ EXHIBITION AT MANGERE VISITING PILOT'S DISPLAY A brilliant display of acrobatics was given by Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamil-ton, advance agent of the visiting party of English public school boys, at the Mangere aerodrome yesterday. • Taking off in one of the Auckland Aero Club's machines, Lord Malcolm thrilled the spectators from the beginning of his exhibition until he landed again. Only a few feet !:rom the ground level he threw the machine about so that at times the wing-tip on either side almost brushed the grass. Ihe most daring movement was the trailing of one banding wheel and a wing-tip a few inches above the ground. The pilot varied his display by banking erratically and turning at different angles and altitudes. At practically no stage of the display did the rise to a height of more than 50ft. Lord Malcolm also gave a display of looping and other aerobatics, and was seen in a mock aerial combat with the club instructor, Flight-Lieutenant D. M. Allan, who gave his customary week-end display of trick flying. Both pilots were given hearty applause by the crowd, which was one of the largest at the ground this year. The weather was ideal for flying, and the club machines made many pjissenger flights.
