DELIVERY OF MEAT

CHARGES AT BLENHEIM SCHEME BREAKS DOWN, [by telegraph—rßESS association] BLENHEIM, Friday Blenheim butchers recently introduced a system of a penny per pound charged for delivery and a penny per pound charge for the booking of meat for the. same reasons as those governing the Auckland decision, but the scheme proved a failure, first one and then another member of the Master Butchers' Association departed from the arrangement, which was finally abandoned. The result is that the association itself is now virtually defunct, although an attempt is to be made to revive it. The president of the association, Mr. R. Simpson, expressed the opinion that the charges would be successful in assisting Auckland butchers to overcome their difficulties because they would be unanimously loyal to tho arrangement.
