PORTUGUESE FOR SENTENCE TWO OTHER MEN CHARGED A Portuguese locksmith, John Henry Silva, aged 23, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday charged with the unlawful conversion of a motor-car, the thort or a driver's licence, and thefts of clothing of a total value of £5 12s. Accused pleaded guilty to the theft charges. Detective-Sergeant McHugh said accused bad been sharing; a room with a man in Hobson Street tor a week, after which ho suddenly left, takin & ® of clothes and some sports clothes. He sold the suit to a second-hand dealer for £l, and was wearing the other clothes when arrested. A remand was granted on the conversion charge, and sentence on the other charges was postponed for a week. Charged with the unlawful conversion of a motor-car, valued at £IBO. the property of Eric Marmont. on I'ebruarv 22. Alton William Moyle labourer aged 22, wp.s remanded m custody until Tlfnesirian, Roy Joseph John Moase aced 22, was remanded until Monday ofa charge of stealing £5 from Ernest jZ&rson Gilfillan on February 18.
