! Miss Gwen Joll, of Northcote, left by the Awatea last evening to spend a holiday in Sydney. Mrs. Alva Bartley, Gilgit Road, Epsom, returned this . week from a visit to Lake Rotoiti. Mrs. T. Strahan, Otorohanga, is staying with her daughter, Mrs. E. J. Cronin, Remuera Road. Mr. H. M. Rogerson has returned to her home at Epsom after spending several weeks at Milford. Mrs. Williams (Bournemouth, England), and Mrs. E. Swainston (Murchison), are at the Station Hotel. Mrs. T. M. Redshaw and her daughter, Joyce, of Mount Albert, left last evening by the Awatea to spend a holiday in Australia. Mrs. C. V. Carley, of Hamilton, Mrs. E. I. McDonald, of Waiuku, and Mrs. A. B. Carley, of Taniwlia, are spending a holiday at Waihi beach. Mrs. Alec Martin, of Dunedin, who has been touring the North Island, is at present visiting Auckland, and is the guest of Mrs. A. E. Hammer, Seaview Road, Remuera. Miss Kathleen. Courtney, who is visiting New Zealand under the auspices of the national board of the Y.W.C.A., arrived in Whangarei on Tuesday and was accorded a civic welcome at the Town Hall in the afternoon. The Mayor, Mr. W. Jones, welcomed Miss Courtney on behalf of the borough and of the various women's organisations in the district.
