FISHING CONTESTS
WOMEN COMPETITORS Many women are taking part in the deep-sea fishing contests which are being conducted in Australia during the sesquicentcnary celebrations. Two women residents of Victoria have already sent in their entries, while one enthusiastic fislierwoman, Mrs. J. L. Myers, has come all the way from Manila, Philippine Islands, in order to take part.
New South Wales women candidates include Mrs. Anthony Hordern, of Sydney, Mrs. Venour Nathan, of Burradoo, who has taken part in deepsea fishing for some years, and Mrs. Geoffrey Faithfull, of Goulburn. Mrs. Faithfull has hooked many sharks, her largest catch weighing 2001b.
