LANCASHIRE SOCIETY
SOCIAL EVENING HELD A social and dance held by the Lancashire Society on Thursday night, attracted many members and friends. Mr. J. H. Smith presided. During the dance interval, Mrs. I'robert and family presented several musical items. A presentation of a crystal bowl and servers was made to Miss Freda Taylor by the chairman on the occasion of her approaching marriage, and Mrs. J. Gates presented her with a bouquet of mixed flowers from the committee.
Competition dances were held, the winners being:—Miss G. Cooper and Mr. A. Barlow, Mrs. J. Gates and Mr. H. J. Hillsdon, Miss Mitchell and Mr. Hedgecock, and Mrs. Godsalt. Supper hostesses were:—Miss Brassington and the committee ladies.
