FINNISH BARQUE PAMIR

ARRIVAL LIKELY TO-DAY MORE FAVOURABLE WINDS No report has been received of the movements of the Finnish four-masted barque Pamir since she was sighted off the Bay of Plenty by the Rangitane on Monday morning. The Pamir is nearing the end of a voyage of 99 days from Astove Island, in the Seychelles Group, Indian Ocean, with a cargo of guano for Auckland. Two vessels entering Auckland yesterday, the motor-ship Durham, from Liverpool, and the steamer Waipiata, from Wellington, reported that the barque had not been sighted.

Southerly weather was general on the East Coast yesterday, and it is probable that the Pamir fetched the neighbourhood of Cuvier Island or Great Barrier Island last night and that she will enter the Hauraki Gulf to-day.

One of the > Auckland Harbour Board's tugs will stand by in Bangitoto Channel to tow the Pamir into the stream and, alcer port clearance has been given, the barque will berth at King's Wharf to discharge a full cargo of 4000 tons of guano.
