HELPERS ENTERTAINED
OTAHUHU SOCIAL EVENING
A complimentary social evening in honour of the ladies assisting in the annual street appeal for funds, was given by the members of the Otahuhu division of the St. John Ambulance Association in the Parish Hall on Wednesday night. The guests were welcomed by Superintendent H. K. Handisides, who referred to the splendid services of the women helpers, and expressed the division's appreciation. During the evening the retiring superintendent. Mr. T. Ambrose, who has concluded 28 years' service with the association, was presented with a chiming clock. A dance programme was directed by Sergeant C. Robson, the music being provided by an orchestra under the direction of Mr. M. Seel. Supper was served by members of tho unit.
