WOMEN'S DIVISION
To Awamutu. —Over 200 members of various branches of the Women's Division gathered in the Parish Hall, Te Awamutu, to, meet the Dominion president of die organisation, Mrs. F. J. Drake. Also present were the president and executive member* of the Te Awamutu branch of the Farmers' Union. The president of the local branch, Mrs. W. G. Neill, and the president of the South Auckland provincial executive. Mrs. F. J. 13. Ryburn, welcomed Mrs. Drake. Tlio work of the division in its various aspects formed the subject of an interesting address by Mrs. Drake, who also advocated a closer co-oaeration witlv the Farmers' Union. A slioft talk dealj ing with the work of the Farmers Union was given by Mr, A. Bryant, president of the Te Awamutu branch. Solos were contributed by Mrs. Dallas, of Pirongia, and humorous recitations by Mrs. Hopping, of Korakonui. The inter-district competition was won by the Pokuru-Te Kawa West branch, the runner-up being the Frontier Road, Mangapiko branch. The town members and the members of the Korakonui branch were hostesses.
