McDonald's team left of the contingent to race at Trentham this week, there was not much galloping at Awapuni this morning. Old Surrey and The Crooner ran a good ,six furlongs, which drew attention to their prospects at the meeting. The middle of the course proper and the plough were in first-class order. Hunting Queen and The Buzzer, who are to race at Bulls next week, worked attractively on the plough. Hunting Queen's brilliant finish at Hastings will bring her into favour for tho Rangitilcci meeting. Bluffer CAnderson) shaped pleasingly over six furlongs on the plough in 1.18 1-5, tho last half-mile in 545. She was going very smoothly and appears to lie attuned for her race at Trentham on Thursday. Catalogue (Broughton) moved in his usual lazy style ovei six furlongs on the course proper, taking 3.18, the first half-mile in 51 2-ss.' He has freshened up sineo lie raced at Avondale and is expected to carry strong support in the i Wainui Handicap. Round Score Improved Round Score (Anderson) gave a brilliant display over three hurdles, having plenty of pace on all the way. The Greyspoar gelding is greatly improved by his recent racing and will bo produced at Trentham on Monday. Aurora's Love (Leach) was not hurried to run five furlongs on the plough, the. last half-mile in 575. Sho is to race at Bulls, but appears scarcely forward enough to show her best form. Blue Steel (Parkes) ran away from Tangled (McDowell) in the first six furlongs of their mile on the plough, but he was eased in the straight to allow the steeplechaser to catch up. Bluo Steel ran from tho six to the two furlongs in 555, his full six furlongs taking 1.25. Tangled is in great heart for the Waikato Hunt Cup. Tho Crooner (Broughton) was made tho pacemaker in his six-furlong gallop on the course proper, with Old Surrey (Anderson), whom ho led to tho three furlongs in 38 l-ss, and the two in 51 3-ss. Old Surrey challenged in the straight and appeared to be going a little better than the three-year-old at the post in tho fast time of 1.16 2-5. It was a good gallop and drew attention to Old Surrey's prospects at Trentham on Saturday. The Crooner ran lijs best track gallop of tho season and is fast approaching form. Brazil Shows Speed Screen Lord (Anderson), -who has improved greatly with his raeo at Masterton, ran three furlongs with tho Hastings winner Sutjan (Broughton). They took 13 4-5s for the first l'urlong, but came homo brilliantly to complete in 37 2-ss. Screen Lord should be capable of a better showing this week than he made at Opaki. Sudan will not race at Trentham, but sho has done so well since the Hawke's Bay meeting that it is possible she will ho allowed to take her placo in the Welcome Stakes next month. Glynne Park (Leach) was of no use to taillight (Williamson) _ over six furlongs. Taillight was easing up to rup tho distance in 1.23 2-5. He cut out his first half-mile in 54s and could liavo done better. Brazil (Anderson) was much too good for the Musketoon —Snowshoe colt (Broughton) over two furlongs ill 24 4-ss. Brazil has come along quickly in the past week or two and is nearly ready to race. Jubileo Song (Ireland) hit out well over seven furlongs, on tho plough in 1.34 4-5, tho first half-mile in 545.
