METHODIST CHURCH
AUCKLAND EAST CIRCUIT Fifty-five officials attended a meeting of the Auckland East Methodist Circuit this week. The Rev. E. D. Patchett presided. Membership Returns showed the roll to be 860, with 212 junior members. The balance-sheet revealed a small credit balance on the quarter's workings. It was reported that the Pakuranga Church had been reopened and that monthly services had been organised to alternate with Presbyterian services. The secretary of the young people's department reported that the Sunday scholars now totalled 498, there being 77 teachers and 196 Bible Class members, a slight irtorease for the year. The Rev. A. Mitchell's resignation as assistant at Newmarket was accepted with regret. Messrs. A. Williams, T. Clarke, W. Ambury and W McKay were appointed to represent the circuit at the forthcoming Auckland Synod, with Misses Rishworth and Buttle and Messrs. C. K. Wiggles worth and E. R. Warburton as substitutes.
