SENIOR STATUS DESIRED REQUEST BY SUBURBS CLUB A request for the granting of senior gtatus to its senior second division fifteen next season was made by a deputation of the Suburbs Club at a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Kugb.v Union last evening. After considerable discussion it was decided to favourably refer the application to next year's committee. Several alterations to the present system of the classification and appointment of referees were recommended in a report presented by a sub-committee appointed to investigate a number of proposals submitted by the Auckland Rugby Referees' Association. The report was approved and will be forwarded to the association for its consideration. >'• Messrs. A. Belcher and C. Janueson, representing the South Auckland Rugby SubIJnion, outlined its reasons for opposing the Thames Rugby Union's desire for an alteration of boundaries. At the request of the chairman, Mr. A. A. Baker, Mr. Belcher agreed to submit a written report on the matter. , Mr. Jamieson then reviewed the South Auckland Sub-Union's season, which, he ■tated, had been very successful from all angles. He tbanked tho Auckland Rugby Union for its assistance during the year. THAMES' COMPETITION RESULTS [from our owx correspondent] THAMES, Wednesday The winners of the various Rugby competitions during the-year have been declared as follows: —Seniors: White Shield and Stewart Cup, College Old Boys; Knock-out Cup, College Old Boys and Hui Mai jointly. Juniors: Physical Training. Third grade: College Old Boys. Pearson Cup, for most improved junior representative player: M. Dovell. ' L w „ The A. P. Dovell Cup and the W. S. Clarke Cup. presented for conduct, neatness and general appearance of the junior and third grade teams, were won by High School And College Old Boys respectively.
