FIGURES FOR HAMILTON [froai our owx correspoxdext] HAMILTON, Monday Positions filled by the Hamilton Placement Offiqe since April 1 totalled 677 at the last counting, this number comprising 511 permanent placements, 97 casual, that is up to one week, and 60 temporary, lasting for up to threo months. The office's best week but. one was experienced at the beginning of the month, when s.'i men wero placed in work. This year's figures are a general improvement on those for last year, and the placements have" been fairly representative, about 50 per cent of them on farms and the others in varied trades and callings.
