Mr. H. L. Gibson, district traffic manager at Dunedin for the past six years, will retire on superannuation at the end of this month, after 40 years' service in the Railway Department.

Engineer-Commander W. H. TaylorYoung, of H.M.S. Achilles, -senior engineer officer on the New Zealand station, will leave Auckland by the Maetsuycker for the East to-morrow. He will join the liner Johan de Witt at Singapore to continue his voyage to Southampton. Engineer,- Commander? Taylor-Young will be accompanied by his wife.
