COLLISION DAMAGES
CLAIM. AND. COUNTER-CLAIM MAGISTRATE AWARDS £66 [by teleorath —OWN correspondent] WHANG AREI, Tuesday The sequel to a collision between two motor-trucks 011 the Towai-Raupeka-peka roacl on September 10, 1936, was beard in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when Mr.. G. N. Morris, S.M., gave judgment in the case in which Reg. O'Neill, contractor, of Towai (Mr. L. A. Johnson), claimed £BO 4s from E. V. Halls. Limited, storekeepers, of Towai (Mr. 11. K. Trimmer), for damage to the truck, loss of use and depreciation. The defendant counterclaimed for £66 10s Id. The magistrate gave judgment for the defendant on the claim and also on the counter-claim for the full amount of £66 10s Id, with costs in both cases. On the application of Mr. Johnson, security for appeal was fixed at the amount of the judgment, plus £lO 10s.
