CONCERT AND DANCE
The annual concert and dance of the Waitoa Institute was attended by a large and enthusiastic audience. Mrs. H. Kerr presided. Assisting with ail excellent programme were Miss E. Smith, who played a pianoforte solo; Mesdames Hyde, Fleming, Hayes, Johnston, Colson, Cooper and Miss J. Blomfield, who took part in a Spanish item, "In Old Madrid"; Mesdames Blomfield, Hyde, Kerr, Colson, Misses Arnold, E. Smith and J. Blomfield, who presented a playlet, "A Quiet 'Evening," and Mesdames Malcolm, Johnston, Colson, Cook, Kerr, Misses 0. Luxton and Fay Hyde, whose play "Men Were Deceivers Ever" provided much entertainment. A troupe of "Cowboys" contributed a combined item, "Hound the Camp Fire," those taking part being Mesdames Malcolm, Graham, Lynch, Johnston, Kerr, Misses E. Arnold, B. Vercoe, J. Luxton, J. Ryan, .J. Vercoe and E. Smith. Fancy dancing was presented by Miss Martin, of Waihou, Piper Roy Robertson acting as her accompanist. Following supper "dancing was enjoyed by all.
