AWATEA IN GALE
HEAVY SEAS OFF COAST
VESSEL'S ARRIVAL DELAYED
EXPECTED ABOUT MID-DAY
Meeting heavy weather off the Nevr Zealand coast yesterday, the Awatea; which was due here from Sydney at eight o'clock this morning, has been delayed, and is now expected to arrive at mid-day or later. The weather was fine when the Awatea left Sydney on Friday evening, but she head winds when approaching the coast yesterday morning, and advice was. received that she expected to arrive at 11.30 a.m. A wireless message from Captain A. H. Davey last night, however, stated that the vessel had run into a gale, which was increasing, and might arrive later than noon. , t -
